Assistant Pastor, Gospel Baptist Church
I had the privilege of being raised in a pastor’s home in Michigan I was saved and baptized at the age of 13. I soon became active in several ministries including the bus ministry at my father’s church. At the age of 15 I surrendered to the Lord’s call on my life to preach the gospel. I attended Christian education from 3rd grade through the 12th grade.
I attended college at a local university all the while staying active at my father’s church Antioch Baptist Church in Warren, Michigan. In the fall of 1986 I started medical school in Des Moines, Iowa. In December 1986 I had the awesome honor of marrying my wife Linda. God has since blessed us with 3 children George, Kaitlin and Allison. While in medical school we stayed active in the ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. In June 1990 I graduated first out of 186 in my medical school class. We moved back to Michigan where I completed my internship and residency in Internal Medicine. During my postgraduate training we once again stayed active in the ministry at Antioch Baptist.
For approximately 16 years I assisted my father in many different ministries. I was bi-vocational during this time. I was ordained as a Baptist preacher in February 2000. I taught an Adult Sunday School class along with filling the pulpit to preach. I was the Superintendent of the Christian School for many years and for my last year in Michigan I was the principal. I was also faithful to our soul winning and visitation programs throughout the years.
I became involved in the Reformers Unanimous (RU) ministry in 2006 and moved to Rockford Illinois in 2008 to work more closely with the RU ministry under Pastor Paul Kingsbury and Steve Curington. I have written many books and booklets for the RU ministry and I am still traveling the U.S. and Canada preaching the Bible and representing the RU ministry. When I was in Rockford I started specializing in Addiction Medicine which I continue to practice up until today.
In 2010 the Lord moved my family to Southwest Florida where we soon started to attend Gospel Baptist Church. We eventually joined Gospel Baptist and became more and more active in its ministries including teaching one of the Adult Sunday School classes. As God moved in the heart of Pastor Lytell and in the membership of Gospel Baptist Church I was voted in as a bi-vocational assistant pastor in 2015.
I am now actively serving the Lord at Gospel Baptist Church as well as still writing for and traveling for the RU ministry.
I like to say that my profession is medicine but my passion is the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. I love to study the Bible and then develop the material into lessons and sermons to then teach and preach to others.
