I was blessed beyond belief to be raised in a Fundamental Christian
home, with both biological parents trusting Christ at the same time
(when I was two). I attended Sunday School and Church from my earliest
memories. At about five years old, I heard a lesson in Sunday School
on Hell. The teacher so clearly pictured those without Christ as
their personal Savior as dropping into hell to never be saved, that
it shook me. The Holy Spirit used this to bring me to the understanding
that I never had personally repented of my sins, which were many,
and I asked Jesus to save me and forgive me. In the back seat of
an old Chevy Impala, I asked in faith, with sorrow for my many sins,
for Jesus to save me. That was the beginning of a journey that has
led me through many dangers, toils, and snares.
In 1970, God literally grabbed me by the ear and had me attend Bob Jones University for my degree in English Bible with minors in English and Business. In 1976, I was ordained into the ministry at Community Baptist Church, in Ft. Myers, FL by a group of local Pastors after thorough investigation. These independent, fundamental men helped launch me into the preaching and teaching ministry. I graduated from Bob Jones in 1978, and almost immediately attended Pensacola Christian College for my Master's Degree in Bible Exposition, which I completed in 1981. Gospel Baptist Church called me to preach for them on their third and fifth Sundays of meeting. They were a small group of about 29 people who felt led to start a church in north Bonita Springs, FL. I joined and became their Assistant Pastor for almost 12 years, before our Senior Pastor retired and the church called me to the Senior Pastorate position. In 1992, I assumed the duties of Senior Pastor here with an attendance of about 100 average, and a budget of about $80,000 yearly. Since then God has greatly grown His work here. It was in 1986, that with a strong burden for Christian Education, that Gospel Baptist Christian School was started. Our first year, we had 12 students, with Miss Miley teaching them all. In 1991, God moved me into the position of School Administrator, which I’ve held from that time until now. We have expanded to an average of 100 students and 8 teachers, covering K-3 through 12th grade. As the Administrator of this size school, and having been here so long, I can say with great confidence that I know our teachers. I mean I know their character, lives, and practice as much as one can know another person. These teachers and staff are real in their Christian living, and tested in their character. How many schools can really say they know their teachers? The size of our classes and the depth of our people teaching make this a high quality, life changing experience. Come join in with us, and personally experience what I am saying. Your Friend and Administrator, | ||
