Dear Visiting Folks:

Our highest purpose is to point men and women to the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said of himself in John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

I know . . . this is mutually exclusive. Jesus is your only hope according to His own words. He also said this . . . (Luke 13:3) "I tell you. Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

I know — this is straight and harsh sounding. Jesus is not worried about hurting your feelings or contradicting your religious training. He is ultimately concerned about our eternal destiny. On that He said . . . (John 3:36) "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

I know . . . this is threatening and possibly offensive.

One of the hardest tasks we have in this life is to figure out who our friends are. Is a friend one who tells you what "feels good" or "always makes you happy?"

Jesus is a friend of sinners. He paid our debt so we could go free. If you have not already taken His advice, deeply consider it now . . . (Matthew 11:28-30) "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
